Michael's Experience
Hi! My name is Michael. I am a Christian naturist. I had been raised in an
uptight broken Irish Roman-Catholic family in Upstate New York. Most of my life
I was ashamed of my body and its parts. I had a difficult time looking in the
mirror. When I got married at the young age of 20, my first wife didn't help
with my self-esteem. Things got progressively worse, and, after 19 years in the
marriage from hell, we divorced. My self-esteemed got worse in the process.
In the fall of 2003, after being married to my second wife for four years, I was
awakened in the middle of the night to a voice that said, "Michael, wake up!
Come, we have some work to do." I got up, went into the living room, laid down
on the floor and began to pray. I heard a noise, and I looked up and saw the
Lord Jesus Christ standing there naked. He reached his hand out to me, stood me
on my feet, and began to gently scold me for my unbelief and telling me how much
he loved me. He then took me into the restroom, stood me in front of the mirror
(I, too, was naked), and told me that I was never to
be ashamed of my body or any part of it, including my penis and testicles, for
he had created them, too, and he called them "very good." (Genesis 1:26-31).
From that day to this, I have not been ashamed of my body, or any of its parts.
I love what I look like, when I gaze at my reflection in the mirror, and I thank
God every single day for the opportunity to experience life inside of this
wonderful body God has given to me to live in. It is, to me, the most sufficient
garment that I could wear. It's hand washable, drip-drying, comfortable, and
easily maintained. As long as I take good care of it, it takes good care of me.
I haven't been sick with a cold or the flu in years. I haven't struggled with
depression since I adopted the naturist lifestyle. Since 2003, my marriage has
gotten better, and the sex is phenomenal. What more could I ask for? Well, I
would like to have more friends who love God and the naturist lifestyle as much
as I do. That is my one desire.
I am the author of the book, "The Epiphany of the Body - the Naked Human Body
Through the Eyes of the Creator." I am currently working on a children's book
called "Albert Goes Naked," which should be ready for publication in late Spring
2007. I am a naturist artist and activist, and I also write and act in naturist
performances in front of textile audiences.
