In The Buff Origin
The origin of "in the buff" came from 17th century England.
English soldiers wore a buff-coat which was a light leather tunic.
To be wearing the coat was to be "in the buff". Later, the phrase
was meant to be naked as the color buff was a light brownish yellow.
